| World Harmony Day Will Bring
The World To Oneness

Never has the quest for peace been more
urgent as after the September 11 attack on America. The
attack on the native soil of America must have been the
second occasion by which America the world’s superpower
was left so vulnerable and naked. The first incident was
during the Second World War when Pearl Harbor was bombed.
Historians will surely look back on the September 11 incident
as one of the more significant events of the twenty first
century. The post September 11 world was indeed a different
one from the pre-September 11 world. As the world was
coming to grips with the issue of terrorism, people and
governments around the world began to see the interdependent
relationship that held the world’s people. We began to
see ourselves as one human race and that the pain of a
people in another country cannot and will not be ignored.
September 11 made people look at the violence, oppression,
poverty and suffering around them. Many came to the realization
that they can no longer subsist on their self-created
cocoons of isolation because the pain of people from another
part of the world could and may become their own pain.
As a result many felt compelled to action. However, alone,
there is just so much that each individual can accomplished.
We have learnt through our businesses, our governments
and our work places that when we truly work together and
cooperate together, there is virtually no limit to what
we can achieve. But we need a platform from which we can
get together, meet like-minded people and discuss ideas
at forums, create discussion panels where experts can
meet and discuss pertinent issues concerning the future
of humanity.
World Harmony Day is such a platform. WHD will unite all
races on earth under a singular citizenship - world citizen,
to share ideals and most importantly, to share knowledge.
(It's something some of us still believe given the current
state of this world.) A platform where people can get
together and muster their wills to take constructive and
intelligent actions to aid humanity in creating for ourselves
and our children a future where peace reigns, and love
is in every human heart. We have to believe that when
enough of us get together, we would be empowered to take
actions that will benefit the world at large. What we
need to create is that critical mass of cultural creatives
and also creates opportunities for them to engage each
other, interact and share experiences and ideas. Only
when we can succeed in achieving this through the World
Harmony Day platform and it activities then we are in
fact acting as a catalyst, a catalyst for change and empowerment.
And we can all hope for a peaceful and harmonious world
where differences in culture, language, social conventions,
religion and opinions do not divide but rather the diversity
allows humans to appreciate and love each other more.
I envision a world where anger and fear does not automatically
leads to destructive results as war and violence. I envision
a world where people live in peace and harmony where anger,
which is a natural human emotion, is expressed in loving
and harmonious ways. I have a vision of a “Universal Spiritual
Education” where children are taught from an early age
the oneness and universality of all faiths and religion
through fables and stories. And where governments around
the world recognize the spirit of humanity and actively
implements into their education systems subjects that
teaches students about the universality and oneness of
all faiths and religion. I believe deep in my heart that
when we can achieve this through the World Harmony Day
platform and get governments all around the world to realize
that while our educational systems have focus so much
on subjects that are necessary for survival and prosperity,
they have forgotten that spiritual education that subject
that teaches students how to live good exemplary live
have been lacking in our curriculums.
The World Harmony Day platform is intended to bring people
who would become leaders in their particular fields, and
communities together. Our vision is to reach out and touch
the lives of millions of people who would become cultural
creatives. We envisage the day when on 20 February at
20:02 every year, people from around the world would get
together in their respective countries, states, provinces
and towns for Two (2) minutes of Peace Silence to recommit
themselves to peace, love and harmony. We see ourselves
as a flame, which would join other flames around the world
to create a world that we all would love to be part of
- A beautiful world on this beautiful planet earth.
We see that in time to come, WHD would be a platform where
different groups and organizations around the world with
resonant values can come to work and collaborate together
to bring about a heaven on earth which so many mystics,
spiritual leaders, seers and sages have spoken of. With
that, we leave you with your imaginations to dream of
the enormous possibilities that are possible with peace
and harmony on our planet. We hope that you would join
us in our vision and mission to create a greater world
for all of humanity. Earth is such a beautiful planet
with its oceans, its mountains, its rivers, its valleys,
it forests and plains. Let us be together and through
our beingness, let us recreate our world and ourselves
to the greatness of our wildest dreams and visions.
