Change the world for the better: The power is in your hands

Dear Sirs,

My name is Sunflower Chong and I come from Singapore. I was very inspired in response to the call made by Nobel Peace Prizewinners to make a difference. Mr. Colin Archer from international Peace Bureau from Geneva believes that all the NGO with the Governments can take the leadership role in resolving the conflicts by steering the world towards Peace.

I would like to share a great idea that can help to shift the collective consciousness of the entire world and possibly become a significant step to restoring peace.

Our proposal is; calling for World Harmony Day on 20 February 2002 at time 20:02pm. A time when people all around the world will come together in large and small groups to hold a 2 minutes Peace Silence. It will be a great challenge for all of us to make 200220022002 a reality. All it needs is your belief that this CAN actually happen and your government's ability to spread the word. Let's make February 20th a day that serves to remind us that peace can be achieved through positive action.

Please lend your voice and the weight of your good offices to help restore harmony to our world for our sake and more importantly, for the sake of all our children. This event could very well become a milestone in the history of peace making simply because you cared enough to make it happen.

I do realize that both of you must truly be a very busy men therefore I thank you for your precious time.

Dear Monsieur Vedrine,

My daughter and I were very delighted to receive the letter dated on 09-01-2002. We thank you very much for the reply.

Our greatest gift to the world is to work very hard besides United Nations to achieve World Peace. Since the conception of World Harmony Day on 11-11-2001, my daughter and I had not stop a minute in our pursued to make 200220022002 a reality.

I would like to let you know our progress work so far:

1) We had already set up the website -
www.worldharmonyday.com (Launch on 24)

2) We had email to NGO and Permanent Missions to assist us in our endeavour.

3) We had sent our proposal to most of the leaders of the world directly.

4) We had sent our proposal to Mr. Michael Bloomberg, the Mayor of New York and propose the idea of organizing a special event on 200220022002 with the support of Sony Corporation in America and the Irish Rock Group U2.

I hope that France could do something special on 200220022002.

Reply Letter

ATTN: President Chirac

Dear President Chirac,

We are very happy to receive your letter of encouragement and support for World Harmony Day on 200220022002. We hope France can observe a 2 minutes Peace Silence on that day by blocking the media.

The letters we had received made our journey sweeter although it is still a struggle. When we embarked on this mission we did not begin with very high hopes that we could really make this day a reality, but then the momentum took off.

Suntec called us to host the event at the Fountain of Wealth free of charge. They believed since I had already gone so far why not complete this journey by hosting the event at their premise. In fact it is total madness for me to try to pull through such a huge event with only two weeks left to work on. With the grace from God, we believed we must give our best short as such opportunity comes only once in a lifetime.

Suntec tried very hard to convince me to change the date to give them more time to do a great job and to invite local VIP to attract the crowd. I refused to change the date not because I was stubborn but because it must be symbolic. Although we could not get VIP on board Suntec is still willing to allow us to host the show because Suntec's boss believed in our vision and mission. All you need in life is for ONE to believe in you and success will follow shortly.

I got a great feeling this night is going to be an interesting and memorable evening especially with your spirit with us. The ceremony will start at Singapore time 7.30pm with three speakers and the 2 minutes Peace Silence will begin at 8.02 - 8.04pm with all the light off except the candles for 2 minutes. Rojo from Madagascar will sing a song and the all-different race band conducted by Mr. Rick Smith will entertain the crowd with music for half and hour.

I hope that you like our program and observe the 2 minutes Peace Silence wherever you are with your family.
